Spiced Sweet Potato and Apple Salad
We teamed up with Yes! Apples—a woman-owned company in New York—to make a spiced sweet potato and apple salad that’s perfect for when you crave a salad with that little extra something.
Yes! Apples sent us a box of their sweet-tart SweetTango apples, which we found to be the perfect complement to the warm, nutty notes of our Cardoz Legacy Garam Masala and roasted sweet potatoes!
Together with peppery red onions and radishes, the fat and crunch of toasted walnuts, and a sweet-tart dressing made with our funky Chaat Masala, this salad is crunchy, satisfying, warming and refreshing!

Masalas needed: Garam Masala & Chaat Masala
Serves: 4-6 as a side dish
INGREDIENTS:
2 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and diced into ½ inch cubs, tossed in olive oil, ½ Tbsp Cardoz Legacy Garam Masala, salt and pepper to taste and roasted at 400°F until tender and caramelized, then cooled
2 Yes! Apples SweeTango apples, cored and cubed into ½ inch pieces
4 radishes, sliced thin
½ red onion, sliced thin
½ cup walnuts or pecans, toasted
2 Tbsp olive oil
1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 tsp honey
1 tsp Dijon mustard
Salt and pepper to taste
1 small garlic clove, minced (optional)
¼ cup chopped mint leaves
¼ cup sliced scallion greens
DIRECTIONS:
In a medium bowl, combine the sweet potatoes, apples, radish, onion, and nuts.
In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, vinegar, honey, Chaat Masala, mustard, garlic, and salt and pepper to taste.
Gently toss the dressing over the salad and combine.
Garnish with mint and scallions—and devour!
